Anderson County Volunteer Rescue Squad is responsible for providing primary rescue services to the citizens of Anderson County, Tennessee. We proudly serve a population of 73,400 persons living in an area of 338 square miles. Today ACVRS is composed of approximately 40 unique and dedicated individuals who respond to nearly 1,000 calls for service per year. ACVRS offers and perfroms a wide variety of services some of which include: vehicle extrication, mountain rescue, technical rope rescue, K-9 search and rescue, along with water rescue/recovery. In some instances, ACVRS also provides first response to emergency medical calls to assist Anderson County EMS in caring for patients. To do so, many of our members are trained as first responders, emergency medical technicians, or paramedics.
Our membership is strictly volunteer and members receive no monetary compensation for their services or time. However, members of ACVRS undergo extensive training on a regular basis and are avaliable to respond to calls for service 24 hours per day 365 days per year.
